Comment: Ancelotti is the right choice

Chelsea and Roman Abramovich have secured a coup by securing the signature of Carlo Ancelotti, says Eugene YS Han.

Ancelotti is, in every aspect, a born winner.

The former Milan and Juventus coach has won everything there is to be won in European and Italian football.

The 49-year-old Italian has two Champions League medals as well as a SChelsea Training Ground Official Openingcudetto - all with Milan.

Ancelotti was never a popular coach at Milan or Turin but he has proven time and time again he is a winner.

Chelsea had to move quickly to secure their target as Real Madrid were reportedly interested in him as well.

This proves how highly-regarded Ancelotti is in European football.

He will not only be able to command respect from the Chelsea players, he will also be crucial in attracting star players to Stamford Bridge.

Players like Milan's Kaka, Bayern's Franck Ribery and Valencia striker David Villa have all been linked with a move to Chelsea.

Ancelotti is expected to be given a significant amount of money in order to strengthen the already formidable squad.

What Chelsea owner Abramovich wants from his new manager is simple - win the Champions League title to erase the horrors of Moscow 2008.

Abramovich is determined to make sure Chelsea are the first London club to win Europe's greatest prize - and Ancelotti is the right man for the job.
